Let’s Meet Brad Woodland Our Napa Facility Manager

Q: How long have you been with Mike’s Auto Body?
A: Only 1 year, but definitely the best out of the last 25. It is a very family-oriented business.

Q: How many years of industry experience do you have?
A: 15 years total with 1 year at an insurance company

Q: Favorite part of the job?
A: I love meeting new people and being able to help them at a time in need.  I also enjoy the problem solving aspect of it…..no 2 repairs and no 2 people are the same.

Q: What do you do when you're not working at Mike’s Auto Body?
A: A typical weekend consists of the family riding our bikes to the farmer’s market. Then it is off to help at softball, soccer, or lounging at the pool.

Q: Favorite TV Shows?
A: My 2 favorite shows right now are Brain Games and Impractical Jokers. My oldest daughter loves watching Brain Games because it really opens your eyes to how amazing the mind is, but also how easily it can be tricked. My youngest daughter likes watching Impractical Jokers with the family, while we all sit around and laugh at the crazy things 4 friends force each other to do.

Q: Pets and their names?
A: We have a cat named Sparkle. She was named by our youngest daughter who was 4 at the time. Sparkle was a feral kitten that showed up at our back door, starving and scared. As much as I wanted to tell our girls we could not keep her, I knew she would not survive if we didn’t.

Q: Favorite outdoor activities?
A: Anything with the family, but specifically mountain biking, hiking, or spending the day at the beach.

Q: If you could have any kind of car, what would you get and why?
A: Tesla, because it is a locally made, electric vehicle, that has excellent acceleration. It’s not your typical E/V (electric vehicle).

Q: What are some of the customer service things you're proud of at Mike’s Auto Body and describe your view of what exceptional customer service is?
A: Everything we do at Mike’s Auto Body is aimed at providing exceptional customer service. There is a culture here where every employee takes great pride in providing the best repair and the highest level of customer service. Whenever possible, we always try to do something extra to make the car look better or make the repair experience easier, such as cleaning the car, touching up old rock chips, fixing the unrelated damage that is in the same area as the repair, arranging for a rental, giving a ride home or to work, delivering the car directly to the owner. We love to hear the positive feedback when our customers take the time to respond to our CSI (customer service index) surveys or when they drop us a thank you note.

Q: What are some of the changes you've seen in this industry over the years and how has Mike’s Auto Body reacted to these?
A: We have seen the industry require more annual training, specifically I-CAR. Mike’s Auto Body has always placed the highest priority on keeping all of the staff at the forefront of the latest repair standards and technology. With 250 employees and 11 locations, this is a huge investment. Mike’s Auto Body was a leader in converting to a more eco-friendly water based paint long before it was required. Mikes Auto Body always does its due diligence in researching new products and equipment by attending trade shows, interviewing vendors, visiting other shops that are already using these items to make sure these items will benefit our customers. Mikes Auto Body reinvests heavily in our personnel and equipment to make sure we have the right people and right equipment to fix your vehicle.
